About FWCThe Flex Wheeler Classic is Minnesota's premier sport and fitness event. The crown jewel and main event of the weekend is the NPC Flex Wheeler Bodybuilding and Figure Classic, and NPC national qualifier. Top NPC competitors will use this event to springboard their way into other NPC national shows and possible IFBB Pro Cards. Our show will be covered by international bodybuilding publications such as Muscular Development, Ironman Magazine, Flex Magazine, and more! FWC competitors will also be featured in MuscularDevelopment.com's MDTv, on the Muscle Mob's No Bull Radio, and more. In future shows look for us to add on Mixed Martial Arts, Sumo Wrestling, 5/10K runs, Health/Fitness symposiums, personal trainer certifications, and MORE!!! What is the Flex Wheeler Classic?First ever Flex Wheeler Classic was in 2000 in Fresno, CA. Due to lack of interest and a high demand of special appearances and competitions Flex had to postpone the show for 7 years until the 2007 Flex Wheeler Classic. The 2007 show was held at the Fresno Convention Center and it was a HUGH success. We had the first ever Superstar seminar preceeding the show on Friday night with IFBB pros such as: Dexter Jackson, Victor Martinez, Troy Alves, Don Long, Tanji Johnson and Chrissy Garcia. Also, there was the infamous Victor Conte and All American Master Formulator Jeff Golini. Also in attendance at our show was Muscular Development magazine owner Steve Blechman and his wife Elyse. Joining Steve and Elyse in the audience was Muscle Mob member and Muscular Development Senior Editor John Romano. With emcee Lonnie Teper taking the floor the show was packed full of fun and excitement. Olympia promoter Robin Chang said, "This was the most professionally organized amateur show I've ever seen." Although we vowed to keep the Flex Wheeler Classic in Fresno, finances and business opportunities have taken us to Minneapolis, Minnesota. Minnesota used to have an enormous pool of amateur bodybuilders. But because of circumstances beyond their control, the amount of shows and athletes have dropped dramatically. TFW Worldwide, LLC (Team Flex Wheeler) has stepped in and setting up shop in the mid-west to bring bodybuilding back to the state of Minnesota and to the mid-west. The FWC (Flex Wheeler Classic) has already been sanctioned and has been given National Qualifier status (NQ). The FWC is only one week before the Master's Nationals in Pittsburgh, PA and only two weeks before the USA's in Las Vegas, NV. About Flex WheelerKenneth "Flex" Wheeler began training as a teenager, initially as a supplement to his martial arts training. However his natural development persuaded him to pursue bodybuilding. This would account for Flex's remarkable flexibility in a physique so large. Even so, he has been described by Arnold Schwarzenegger as one of the greatest bodybuilders he ever saw. After a short career as a police officer, Flex focused full time on becoming a professional bodybuilder, now going the nickname 'Flex'. He competed for the first time in 1983 but it was not until 1989 that he secured a first-place trophy at the NPC Mr California Championships. Since then, he has placed second at the 1993 Mr. Olympia, narrowly missing a win (something he was to repeat in 1998 and 1999). He has also frequently won the Ironman Pro (FIVE times) along with the Arnold Classic (FOUR times), the France Grand Prix, South Beach Pro Invitational, Night of Champions and Hungarian Grand Prix. Flex currently owns the world record for wins at the Arnold Classic with 4 titles and the Ironman Pro with 5 wins. Since retirement Wheeler has focused again on martial arts, his specialism being Kemp-Kwon-Do, a variant of Kempo and Tae Kwon Do. He participated in a demonstration fight at the 2005 Arnold Classic. Newly added to Flex's plate is the development of TFW Worldwide LLC. Flex's focus with his new company is the promotion of bodybuilding events, various other sporting events, automotive/motorcycle, training services, publications, and MORE! TFW Worldwide used the 2007 Flex Wheeler Classic as the launch pad for MANY great sporting and business ventures.
